Manifest Gifts

Manifest Gifts:

The 9 Manifest Gifts of the Holy Spirit in First Corinthians 12-14 and the 9 “be-attitudes” of Matthew 5; Are they parallel? Do they support one another? They do and this article proves it.

Mitzvah, [plural: Mitzv’ot], means literally: a command or commandment performed, and, more broadly, a general principle for living or a good deed and/or work performed in faith believing which blesses another, (Matt. 5:19).

The MIKVAH (IMMERSION) (Baptism of the Holy Spirit) is a prerequisite for exercising the 9 MANIFESTATIONAL GIFTS of the RUACH HA KODESH.

MIKVAH is defined as IMMERSION IN, and is correctly understood as an additional GIFT from YAHWEH as is water immersion (Baptism), which equips ALL believers for service in order to operate within the supernatural manifestational GIFTS of the HOLY SPIRIT.

ASK and you SHALL [legal imperative] RECEIVE!

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name [Yeshua] of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name [Yeshua] of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

First John 5:13-15

Matthew, Chapter 5; This is a classic Rabbinical Hebrew Midrash that is given by a Master Torah teacher and Torah observant and Kosher keeping Rabbi, in which Rabbi (Master) Yeshua says:

“Seeing the crowds, Yeshua walked up the hill. After he sat down, his talmidim [disciple students] came to him, and he began to speak. This is what he taught them:

“How blessed are the poor in spirit [a servants heart]; for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

“How blessed are those who mourn [compassionate heart]; for they will be comforted.

“How blessed are the meek [humble in heart]; for they will inherit the Land!

“How blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [lovers of YHWH God through Yeshua]; for they will be filled.

“How blessed are those who show mercy [be a good Samaritan]; for they will be shown mercy.

“How blessed are the pure in heart [singular mind of Messiah]; for they will see YHWH.

“How blessed are those who make peace [seekers of Yeshua’s Millennial mind]; for they will be called sons of YHWH.

“How blessed are those who are persecuted because they pursue righteousness [separated from the world]; for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

“How blessed you are when people insult you and persecute you and tell all kinds of vicious lies about you because you follow me! [Being crucified with Messiah].

Rejoice, be glad, because your reward in heaven is great — they persecuted the prophets before you in the same way.

You are salt for the Land. But if salt becomes tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except being thrown out for people to trample on.”

See my article on “The Eternal Covenant of salt.”

“Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah — not until everything that must happen has happened. So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot [613 commandments] and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. (Matthew 5:17-19)

Roman Catholics, followed by the Protestants, have called this Midrash by the made up Latin root word of the “beatific” Catholic title of “Be-attitudes”. This is not now and was not then, Yeshua’s intent as he taught on the “Mount of the reversal of the Curses”, which was sent to Israel by YHWH God through the avenue of the cursed names of Hosea’s three children. See my article on the “Mount of Reversal” for the teaching on the first of Yeshua’s many Hebraic Midrashes in the book of Matthew.

Sha’ul [Paul], the set apart emissary of Yeshua and a Messianic Rabbi, when speaking in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 12 says:

“But, brothers, I do not want you to go on being ignorant about the things of the Spirit. You know that when you were pagans [Gentiles], no matter how you felt you were being led, you were being led astray to idols, which can’t speak at all. Therefore, I want to make it clear to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says, “Yeshua is cursed!” and no one can say, “Yeshua is Lord,” except by the Ruach HaKodesh [the Holy Spirit]. Now there are different kinds of gifts [Blessings], but the same Spirit gives them. Also there are different ways of serving, but it is the same Lord being served. And there are different modes of working, but it is the same Elohim working them all in everyone. Moreover, to each person is given the particular manifestation of the Spirit that will be for the common good. To one, through the Spirit, is given a word of wisdom [1]; to another, a word of knowledge [2], in accordance with the same Spirit;

to another, faith [3], by the same Spirit; and to another, gifts of healing [4], by the one Spirit; to another, the working of miracles [5]; to another, prophecy [6]; to another, the ability to judge between spirits [7]; to another, the ability to speak in different kinds of tongues [8]; and to yet another, the ability to interpret tongues [9].

I assigned a number arbitrarily [1 through 9] to this list just to show the total number and not to list them in any other way. There is no order of importance, greater or lesser, implied or indicated as we will see in the following comparison of the gifts of the Spirit that are manifested in us, with the parts of our physical bodies which, guess what; are also manifested in us as parts of our spiritual bodies. For more study on the Holy Spirit gifts, see my article,  “Mitzvah [a commandment performed] of the Ruach HaKodesh [Holy Spirit]”.

One and the same Spirit is at work [works?] in all these things, distributing to each person as he [the Holy Spirit] chooses. For just as the body is one, but has many parts; and all the parts of the body, though many constitute one body; so it is with the Messiah. For it was by one Spirit that we were all immersed into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, slaves or free; and we were all given the one Spirit to drink [living water]. For indeed the body is not one part but many. If the foot says, “I’m not a hand, so I’m not part of the body,” that doesn’t make it stop being part of the body. And if the ear says, “I’m not an eye, so I’m not part of the body,” that doesn’t make it stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, how could it hear? If it were all hearing, how could it smell? But as it is, YHWH arranged each of the parts in the body exactly as he wanted them. [I would have blown it big time without Him]. Now if they were all just one part, where would the body be? But as it is, there are indeed many parts, yet just one body. So the eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you”; or the head to the feet, “I don’t need you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seems to be less important turn out to be all the more necessary; and upon body parts, which we consider less dignified we bestow greater dignity; and the parts that aren’t attractive are the ones that we make as attractive as we can, while our attractive parts have no need for such treatment. Indeed, YHWH has put the body together in such a way that he gives greater dignity to the parts that lack it,

so that there will be no disagreements within the body, but rather all the parts will be equally concerned for all the others. [This is not so with 4,000+ denominations in Christendom fighting with one another today]. Thus if one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; and if one part is honored, all the parts share its happiness.”

This is a big deal text!! No denominations, divisions, churches, dispensations, replacement theory-ologies, dog-mahs or walls of separation, are ever allowed in or on the body of Messiah upon orders from the Almighty’s headquarters!

“Now you together constitute the body of the Messiah, and individually you are parts of it. And YHWH has placed in the Messianic Community first, emissaries [c]; second, prophets [6]; third, teachers [e]; then those who work miracles [5]; then those with gifts of healing [4]; those with ability to help [d]; those skilled in administration [a]; and those who speak in various tongues [8].

This is an interesting verse and is a partial listing of the 9 Manifested gifts given by the Holy Spirit that are present and are also working in us. It does not follow the first listing of manifestational gifts seen earlier in this Midrash in a numerical order as I assigned arbitrary numbers to them for comparative purposes; but the new numbers wander around somewhat and even includes some of the 5 fold ministry offices of Ephesians 4:11 in comparative alphabet listings. I have included the same numbers in the restated manifestational gifts previously listed as a guide to parallelisms and I have used lower case alphabet letters for the ministry offices included here in this analysis from their listed order taken from Ephesians 4:11. This then begs the question? Why the mixture of administrative office gifts, which are then shuffled and sandwiched in among the manifestational gifts? Examine this mixed list. Note that all of these intermingled gifts share a common thread of YHWH’s Torah required Holiness instructions in life as both a prerequisite and as a requirement to continue operating in these gifts of grace given ‘works’ after our salvation. Those religious people who say that tongues are done away with run into a real problem with this list of Holy Works, as they do with First Corinthians 13:8 which states:

“Love never ends; but prophecies will pass, tongues will cease, knowledge will pass.”

One cannot parse this verse without being in violation of Revelation 22:18-19 and then make it into a numbered soundbite in order to conform it to their particular biased worldview; whether learned in a denomination [division] or something they cooked up themselves as an aberrant theological position. If one says that tongues pass and prophecies with knowledge remain; they then do violence to Scripture and this verse to their own peril. Sola Scriptura Torah fans!

I see the intermingling of Yahweh’s gifts here as the folding of ones hands and the entwining of ones fingers prior to prayer. Think about the beauty of it as a picture of our life in the spirit of holiness!

“Not all are emissaries, are they? Not all are prophets, are they? Or teachers? Or miracle-workers? Not all have gifts of healing, not all speak in tongues, and not all interpret, do they? Eagerly seek the better gifts. But now I will show you the best way of all.”

First Corinthians 14 explains in minute detail how the manifestational gifts are to be used and with First Corinthians 13, as being the meat portion in the center of this three part scriptural sandwich that explains the heart of the Holy One of Israel; which heart we are to imitate in our use of His gifts. Read it all; then talk amongst yourselves. This is a study challenge to everybody and is open ended. It involves the use of these wonderful biblical numbered manifested lists and their relationships to one another. All of the above gifts have a common thread and that is God’s blessing of His Ecclesia, even today.

See my articles on “Baptism of the Holy Spirit” and “Mitzvah of the Ruach HaKodesh.”

Opposites do not attract!

Opposing minds tear down Shalom and support Satan’s principalities and powers of this present world.

1st Timothy 6, YHWHs advice to a young man:

The Military Mind opposes gifts: “Teach and exhort people about these things.

If anyone teaches differently and does not agree to the sound precepts of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah and to the doctrine that is in keeping with godliness, he is swollen with conceit and understands nothing. Instead, he has a morbid desire for controversies and word-battles, out of which come jealousy, dissension, insults, evil suspicions, and constant wrangling among people whose minds no longer function properly and who have been deprived of the truth, so that they imagine that religion is a road to riches. Now true religion does bring great riches, but only to those who are content with what they have. For we have brought nothing into the world; and we can take nothing out of it; so if we have food and clothing, we will be satisfied with these. Furthermore, those whose goal is to be rich fall into temptation; they get trapped in many foolish and hurtful ambitions, which plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all the evils, and because of this craving, some people have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves to the heart with many pains.

The Berean Mind embraces gifts: But you, as a man of God, flee from these things; and pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith, take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you testified so well to your faith before many witnesses. I charge you before God, who gives life to all things, and before the Messiah Yeshua, who in his witness to Pontius Pilate gave the same good testimony, to obey your commission spotlessly and irreproachably until our Lord Yeshua the Messiah appears. His appearing will be brought about in its own time by the blessed and sole Sovereign, who is King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal, who dwells in unapproachable light that no human being has ever seen or can see — to him be honor and eternal power. Amen.

As for those who do have riches in this present world, charge them not to be proud and not to let their hopes rest on the uncertainties of riches but to rest their hopes on God, who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment. Charge them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous and ready to share. In this way they will treasure up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may lay hold of the real life. Oh, Timothy! Keep safe what has been entrusted to you. Turn away from the ungodly babblings and the argumentative opposition of what is falsely called “knowledge,” for many who promise this “knowledge” have missed the mark, as far as the faith is concerned.

 Grace be with you.”

So, here is your homework assignment. These numbered and complementary lists are not by me, but they are a supernatural arrangement by the Holy Spirit to bless you and to grow you in your connection to our savior. Line up for yourself, a comparative list of all the complementary numbers from the two Midrash texts, one by Yeshua and one from Paul and see how they fit together as the Biblically required two witnesses that are in direct relationship to one another. Bear in mind that the 9 manifested gifts in you, are the personal APPLICATION of these free blessings in your life, which blessings are the 9 gifted blessings from Yeshua that He states in his first Midrash [discourse] in Matthew 5. These are for you, little flock! You will be pleasantly surprised and blessed as you see this, new to some, harmony of the Gospel and Paul’s letters. “In all of these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us.”
