Ma’aseh Shlichim

Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 2

To All Nations and Israel

When attending “Bible College,” or seminary, or other such religious-based classes, often the teacher or instructor will make a startling statement that seems logical, but is the cause for great misunderstandings of the true faith of the disciples. Usually the remark will sound something like this: “The Book of Acts is a historical book used to record the transition between the Jewish dispensation and the ‘New Israel’ church dispensation. Therefore this book should not and cannot be used for doctrine, or to establish church theological positions as the rest of Scripture, which can, and should be used for doctrine.” Unquote. Now years later, understanding the Two- House truth, we can understand why this doctrine was falsely taught to many.

These statements were designed to keep believers away from Torah and a first-century Yisraelite lifestyle. As you will shortly see, the Book of Acts is a most Hebraic resource, showing vividly the practice of Torah in the life of all believers in Moshiach. In this book, we see the apostles wrestling with how to incorporate the returning non-Jews into a Torah-based lifestyle. As such, these issues are all doctrinal issues ranging from ecclesiology (the study of just who is the one true elect bride of YHWH), to soteriologies (the study of salvation itself). Therefore the Book of Acts must be viewed and studied not merely as a historical, or transitional document as some claim, but as a worthy book from which we can derive practical instruction, as well as settle ongoing doctrinal issues, as we receive clarity from its pages. Second Timothy 3:16 reminds us of this truth, by stating that all scripture is profitable for any and every use, including doctrine. Let those who have been discouraged from doing so in the past, begin to look to this book again, not merely as a record of early Nazarene history, but as a guidebook in our cultural return back into the Commonwealth of Yisrael.

If a Bible Teachers first premise is wrong and if that teacher does not understand the basic Biblical understanding of the importance of God’s Holy Feasts and appointed times; then that teacher is expounding fables and children’s stories. Most Bible teachers today miss even the most basic Scripture truth; and that is that the “New” Testament text DID NOT EXIST until well into the generation after Yeshua/ Jesus walked the earth and was written AFTER the fact as an Apostolic Witness to the testimony of Yeshua/Jesus! They forget that the only Scriptures that existed were what they call the “Old” Testament; the VERY TANAKH SCRIPTURES that Yeshua and His Apostles used to verify His Godhood and His Purpose! The basis of all Scripture twisting is the Catholic dogma of anti-Semitism driven by men who call themselves Christian, but are in reality, apostates and pretenders to Hebraic based Christianity.

These teachers; as did the scribes and Pharisees and others under their influence, teach that the precedents that they assume, such as ma’asim, (meaning “works”) and religious reforms (takanot, or traditions), abrogate or supplant the Torah of God and are of greater importance than the written commandments themselves. Even at the time of Jesus/ Yeshua; the scribes and Pharisees had already began a custom of setting aside the written law of Moses as an act of “maintenance” in order to establish their Rabbinic oral law; now written in the Talmud, Zohar and Kaballah.

Paul knew that the written Torah law took precedence over everything and defended it vigorously in accordance with Jesus defense of the same Torah. He told the Galatians that, if someone comes along and teaches something contrary to the written word; that is, by definition,  “another gospel” which encompasses the customs of Rome brought forward by Protestants of today, it always perverts the gospel of Yeshua/ Jesus.

2 Peter 3:16 – 17 (ASV) “as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; wherein are some things hard to be understood, which the ignorant and unstedfast wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, knowing these things beforehand (being taught Torah from their youth), beware lest, being carried away with the error of the wicked, ye fall from your own steadfastness.”

This passage describes and condemns them well. Timothy and Titus, among others, were also warned of these wolves skulking around the flock.

“And when the moed of Shavuot (day of Pentecost) was fully counted by the omer, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from the shamayim (Heavens) as of a groaning Ruach (Spirit), and it filled all the Bayit (Greek: oikos; House, a rented meeting room in the temple for Shavuot gatherings) where they were sitting. And there appeared to them divided tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit), and began to speak with other tongues, as the Ruach Hakodesh gave them the utterance.

And there were dwelling at Yahrushalayim (during Pentecost, in the Temple, at one of 3 Holy Feasts whose attendance is commanded by God) Yahudim (Jews), devout men, out of every nation under the shamayim (Heavens). Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and was confused, because every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, See, are not all these who speak Galileans?

How then do we hear them speaking in our own native language?

Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those Yisraelites dwelling in Aram, among whom were Yahudim, and those from Cappadocia, those from Pontus, and also Asia Minor, Phrygia, and Pamphulia, in Mitzrayim, and in the parts of Libya near Cyrene, and Yahudim and gerim from Romiyah, along with the Yireh-Yahweh, Crete’s and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our (many) tongues the wonderful works of God.

And they were all amazed and stunned, and were in doubt, saying one to another, what does this mean?

Others mocking said, these men are full of new wine.

But Kepha (Peter), standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, You men of Yahudah, and all you that are staying at Yahrushalayim, be this known to you, and listen to my words: For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, seeing it is but nine o’clock in the morning. But this is that which was spoken by the navi Yo-El (Prophet Joel); And it shall come to pass in the yamim acharonim (latter days), said Yahweh, I will pour out from My Ruach upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on My avadim (servants) and on My female avadim I will pour out in those days from

My Ruach; and they shall prophesy: And I will show wonders in the shamayim above, and signs in the olam (earth) beneath; dahm (blood), and fire, and vapor of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into dahm, before that great and terrible Yom Yahweh comes: (terrible Day of the LORD, and not Sunday).

And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the Name of the Master Yahweh shall be saved.

Therefore let kol Beit Yisrael (All of the House of Israel) know assuredly, that the Master Yahweh has made known that same Yeshua, whom you have impaled, as both Melech (King) and Moshiach (Messiah).

Now when they heard this, they were pierced in their lev (heart), and said to Kepha and to the rest of the shlichim (Apostles), Men and Yisraelite brothers, what shall we do?

Then Kepha said to them, Teshuvah (Repent), and be immersed every one of you in the Name of the Master, Yeshua ha Moshiach for the forgiveness of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Ruach HaKodesh.

For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are far off, even as many as Yahweh our God shall call (including grafted-in former gentiles).

And with many other words did he testify and exhort them, saying, Save yourselves from this sinful generation.

Then they that gladly received his word were immersed (baptized in the Temple pool): and the same day there was added to them about three thousand beings. And they continued steadfastly in the shlichim’s Torah and chavurah, and in breaking of lechem, and in the tefillot. And fear came upon every being: and many wonders and signs were done by the shlichim. And all that believed were echad, and had all things be-yachad; and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily as echad in the Beit HaMikdash (The Temple), breaking lechem from bayit to bayit, did eat their food with simcha and a pure lev, Offering tehilla to Yahweh, and having favor with all the people. And Yahweh added to the congregation of Yisrael daily all those being saved.

These notes and observations are now included in order to clarify the text as Luke intended it to be understood in the original context.

As a reminder; The ONLY BIBLE at the time of Acts 2 was the Tanach, mistakenly called by Christians today as the “Old” Testament.

Note 1 on Verse 2: The House is not a room, and is not an upper room. It is merely a Hebraic way of identifying the place as the House of YHWH on Mt. Moriah. Even in the land of Yisrael today, the Temple Mount is known as Har HaBayit, or the Mountain of the House (gr: oikos). The Spirit fell in the Temple or the “House” of YHWH, since that was the only place Yisraelites would be gathered by God’s commandment according to Deuteronomy 16 and Leviticus 23. Had these Yisraelites been in an upper room in a house or Inn, the Set-Apart-Spirit (Holy Spirit) could not have been given, since they would be in disobedience to the Torah, as would YHWH, if He gave it to those who were not in His House, but rather in an outside prayer room of their own choosing. The so-called church as a separate entity from Yisrael was never born on that day, since the events were promised and prophesied and fulfilled to Yisraelites in the Temple, which is YHWH’s House. THIS IS NUMBER 1! Others added later were an expansion of the first time to cover believers all over the earth and in all generations after with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Another indication that Yisrael was being renewed, as opposed to a gentile church being birthed, as the Torah was also given in voices of thunderings, or (as the sages teach) in the 70 known tongues of the nations. The Torah was now being placed in their hearts, and this sign of divided tongues indicated that very implanting within the disciples. These are not the Holy Spirit Manifestational gift of tongues of 1 Corinthians12, 13 and 14, which also are for a sign to all believers, including God-fearers grafted into Israel. There are about 150 languages and dialects known today in the world.

Note that these people were not pagans but were returning Yisraelites in varying stages of return. No pagans would go and worship YHWH on Shavuot/Feast of Weeks. Later in verses 8-11 we see that these men were Yisraelites but not Jews, even though the term Jew is used here to include other Yisraelites, both natural and by conversion.

In verse 5, The term “every nation” is indicative of non-Jewish Yisraelites, since this was before the exile of 70CE and the Jews at that time had not yet been exiled to every nation under heaven like they are today, which had in fact previously occurred 720 years before to Efrayim in the Diaspora of the northern House of Israel.

In the phrase; the “multitudes of the nations,” We see both the devout Jews and the multitudes from the nations coming together around the Holy feasts of Yahweh God as the restoration work begins.

The tongues were in the Native tongues of the many Yisraelite nations that were visiting, mostly Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Latin and Arabic in its various dialects.

The Parthians and Medes in Acts 2:9 are identified as an area where Efrayim (ten northern tribes) was scattered, according to I Chronicles 5:26. The Gozan River was in the area of Medo-Persia. They later formed a large part of the Scythian peoples, who later would settle Northwest Europe as the invading Anglo-Saxon and barbarian nations. The Elamites in Acts 2:9 were most likely descendents of Ullam, son of Shoresh, son of Maachah, son of Manasseh, son of Joseph. “Elamites descended from Ullam, son of Maachah, son of Manasseh, son of Yoseph.

The exiles from Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia and Asia, were all to be considered the dispersed exiled chosen people according to Peter in 1 Peter 1:1 says:
1 Peter 1:1 (ASV) “Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect who are sojourners of the Dispersion (the northern kingdom) in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,”

Israel’s companions are known in Hebrew as Yireh-YHWH, or YHWH fearers who were not Israelite natives.

Clearly many non-Yisraelites by birth were also in YHWH’s House joining Yisrael and thus being Yisrael as seen by the term gerim/strangers and Yireh-YHWH converts. Notice that Libyans and Egyptians also become Yisrael and received the seal of the Spirit. Modern Christians (God fearers) would be included in this group according to Romans 9 through 11; the Olive Tree connection, and are not left out.

Arabs can and have always been welcome to become Yisrael based on Torah terms.

Most believers still don’t clearly see the significance of this event, seeing it as the birth of a new religion, or non-Yisraelite entity, rather than as the fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:31 which says:

Jeremiah 31:31 (ASV) Behold, the days come, saith Yahweh God, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:”  This passage is a clear two-house reference; The Jews and those non-Jews staying for the feast. There is no reference here or anywhere in the Bible to a separate Covenant made with any entity called the “church” except as a part of Israel; “companions” that are “grafted in” to the Olive Tree connection, described as the eternal Commonwealth of Israel; now being restored in these last days, as God promised.

Further proof that this event could not have taken place in the so called “upper room” since that tiny upper room of the last supper can’t hold 3,000 people, or even 120, and certainly did not have a baptismal pool.

The final proof that these events did not birth an “upper room church” as by definition they could not “continue in the temple”, unless they were there in the first place to be Immersed in the Holy Spirit. ALL OF THE 120 WERE ALREADY BELIEVERS and some had been baptized in water and were already indwelt with the Holy Spirit at their conversion!

This is a remez (scriptural hint) on the unity of Yisrael being restored from house to house, between Judah and Efrayim. This is being fulfilled today in the renewal of “House churches”.

The word, “dispensational” means that one can dispense with or parse all Scripture that they do not agree with; usually saying “that was for those folks back there somewhere and does not apply to me.” John Nelson Darby, the author of dispensationalism and a Scriptural English minimalist, was dead wrong and has led millions of folk down his garden path to destruction. See my article on Christian anti-Semitism.

It is hoped that the reader will take serious consideration of Yahweh Elohim’s instructions, including His Eternal, Holy Feasts (the shadow pictures of good things to come) that he gave through Moses as an ETERNAL COVENANT within Torah which is applicable to ALL believers in Yeshua/ Jesus and Act accordingly.

Because of Yeshua on the Emmaus Road,
